According to ancient Neapolitan beliefs, the Sci\u00f2 Sci\u00f2 is a symbol of well-being, wealth and prosperity. To protect against the evil eye and negative influences, the figure spreads incense from its characteristic perforated container while reciting the traditional Neapolitan blessing formula:<\/p>\n
